Magnolia 2031, Parts A & B Laminating Resin
(Formerly called 108-258)
with
Magnolia 1065-7, Parts A & B Surface Coat
(Formerly called 111-217)
DESCRIPTION
Magnolia 2031 is a low viscosity, high temperature resistant laminating resin
for service at 350°F. This resin is often used with Magnolia 1065-7 Surface
Coat.
CAUTION: Both 2031 and 1065-7 are very exothermic. Great care should be taken
to ensure that the material is not cast or allowed to sit in sections over
1/2".
This normally is not a problem provided that excess material which can't be
used prior to expiration of work life is spread out in a thin film or dunked in
a trough of water. To prevent exotherm do not mix more material than can be
used at one time.
NOTE: Keep Part "B" sealed at all times to prevent absorption of moisture from
the air.

SUGGESTED CURE SCHEDULE AND LAMINATE PREPARATION
1. Paint 1065-7 onto fully released master. A uniform thickness of
approximately 10 mils works best.
2. Press a layer of a lightweight "veil" cloth into surface coat.
3. Allow 1065-7 to tack out.
4. Paint on first layer of 2031 and laminate to desired thickness.
5. When possible vacuum bagging will result in a laminate having superior
properties.
6. Allow entire system to "B" stage overnight at room temperature then
cure as follows:
2 hours at 150°F + 2 hours at 250°F + 2 hours at 350°F
