Magnobond 55-2, Parts A & B
DESCRIPTION
Magnobond 55-2 is a two-component epoxy adhesive which will cure at
room temperature or can be forced to cure rapidly in an elevated
temperature environment. It is more than a general purpose adhesive:
it is a structural adhesive with excellent resistance to solvents,
oils, gasoline, water, salt solutions, and a wide variety of industrial
chemicals, including acids and alkalis. This system will bond metals,
wood, paper products, many plastics, ceramic, concrete, and glass. It
is also an excellent insulator. Magnobond 55-2 does not contain
asbestos.
The equal volume mix ratio (with a wide tolerance) helps to insure a
quality product when exacting metering equipment is unavailable. The
contrasting "colors" of yellow epoxy and neutral hardener produce a
yellow mixture which will indicate complete and proper mixing when all
streak-lines disappear.
The system will remain useable up to one hour, yet cure to handling
strength within 12 hours and develop mechanical properties in one day.
Solvent resistance requires somewhat longer.
Standard colors are gray and yellow. Other colors will be made upon
request.
